Raymond Waltjen

I have long worked as an art director for large [ international ] advertising agencies with respectable clients. For years, I worked with well-known [ and lesser-known ] photographers. This shaped me, determined my way of looking at things and fuelled my passion. In ‘99, I decided to follow my instincts; stand behind the camera. Not without merit. I work on commission and make free work. Architecture, shape and lines intrigue me and is what I love to capture in images. Sleek and graphic. You won’t often see people in my pictures. Not because people do not interest me, but because the magic of the place is most important to me. Being able to lose yourself in the aesthetics of a building, a road, a block of flats, a metro station. Making the beauty of an environment visible and tangible. That can make me happy. I hope you can too.
