Nancy Poeran

Nancy Poeran (1975) worked in various management positions in the corporate world for 20 years after graduating in Business Administration. In 2020, she decided to change tack and pursue a career in photography, which turned out to be an excellent decision. In 2021, she was nominated for the Rabo Portrait Prize Talent Award and had exhibitions at Nyenrode University in Breukelen and Amsterdam. In 2024, she gave a TedTalk, showed her work at Haute Photography, was publis- hed in (international) magazines and newspapers, selected for Women in Art and Fresh Eyes 2024, and had a solo exhibition at Atelier K84 on Keizersgracht in Amsterdam and internationally in Rome and San Diego. She graduated from the Fotoacademie in December 2023. Her work revolves around the subjectivity of reality. She believes there are different layers of truth, and in her series ‘We are all made of light and shadow’, she explores the complexity and diversity of the world and ourselves.
