My practice as a documentary photographer is to make the uncomfortable comfortable. Focussing on absurdities and disabilities, I tell other peoples stories, through portraiture and still lives. I put up a studio in peoples personal spaces, using flash to manipulate the scene and re-stage reality. My visuals are clean and calm.

Returning themes in my work are biology, anatomy, history, taxidermy. In other words: life. Life with its ups but also its downsides. While these are aspects that others might avoid I believe in engaging with rather than avoiding, in normalizing the uncomfortable, accepting discomfort and making everything debatable.

My final work is mostly presented as a book, so you can keep it for yourself just like I want to collect and keep things for myself.
