Alexandra Brand (b. 1969) shows within her work the interplay of natural with artificial elements, which can manifest itself both in images of nature and in carefully orchestrated studio still lifes.

She makes use of the beauty of the everyday. Her work almost feels like a piece of music with surprising combinations and compositions. Alexandra gives free rein to her imagination and makes connections between different objects and forms that are placed outside their existing context and thereby gain new meaning. She uses refinement in colour sense and attention to detail. This produces silent and mysterious images. Alexandra graduated from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague.
