By Monique Goossens
As a conceptual artist and independent photographer, I draw my inspiration from nature, unconventional materials, and the sensory experience. I am driven by a profound fascination for the tactile, reveling in the softness, texture, and fluidity of sensations. I allow that fascination to flow into my artistic vision of alienated objects and concepts. I am continually in pursuit of contrasts and estrangement, exploring the interplay between the natural and the artificial, or the dynamic between unfreedom and freedom. My work frequently explores the tension between connection and autonomy, along with the yearning for escape. It is a fusion of aesthetics and edginess.
My work has been exhibited in the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in New York, Centraal Museum Utrecht, PLADS artspace in Denmark, Pulchri Studio in The Hague and others. My work has been featured in various publications, such as Het Parool, NRC, Wired UK, Type Player, Huffington Post, Trendland, Bite Me Magazine, Page-online, Premiere Vision, Infringe Magazine, Trendhunter, Artwort, Parnassusmagazine, Yatzer, Visual News, Designboom, Designtaxi, Philosophie Magazin, Blend and Dezeen and more.
